Like everyone who cares about this university, we are relieved to see a settlement of the contract dispute at UIC with no further strikes.
Since the details of the contract have not been made public, we will withhold any judgment on that.
But we will be particularly interested to see whether faculty at UIC will do better under their union contract than our faculty have done WITHOUT one. Stay tuned!
